The average infection rate among dogs and cats is about 16%, but in some cases, it can reach 90%. In 2020, the share of helminthiasis in the general structure of parasitic diseases amounted to 87.5%. In 2020, 871 cases of human disease were registered (0.59 per 100 thousand population), compared to 2019, the incidence decreased 2.25 times, and since 2011 – 3.9 times. 353 cases of toxocariasis were detected among children under 17 y.o. (1.17 per 100 thousand of this age), which is 1.9 times less than in 2019, and compared to 2011, the incidence decreased by 4.9 times.
