Focus and Scope

Entomology and Applied Science Letters supports the submission of entomological papers that contain information of interest to a wider reader groups e. g. papers bearing on taxonomy, phylogeny, biodiversity, ecology, systematic, agriculture, morphology.  The selection of comprehensive, revisionary or integrated systematics studies of broader biological or zoogeographical relevance is also important. Distinguished entomologists drawn from different parts of the world serve as honorary members of the Editorial Board. The journal encompasses all the varied aspects of entomological research. This has become the need felt in scientific research due to the emphasis on intra-, inter-, and multi-disciplinary approach.

The journal is divided into the following sections: Morphology, Systematics, Evolution, Sampling, Distribution, Dispersal, Development, Life History, Population And Community Ecology, Behaviour, Chemical Ecology, Population Biology/Genetics, Molecular Biology/Genomics, Neurobiology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Vector Control, Pest Management, Resistance, Repellents, Arthropod/Host Interaction, Immunity, Vector/Pathogen/Host Interaction, Transmission. Vector-Borne Diseases, Surveillance, Prevention, Direct Injury, Myiasis, Forensics, Modeling/Gis, Risk Assessment, Economic Impact.

The Journal covers following aspects of Entomology-

Apiology, Arachnology, Arthropodology, Cetology, Conchology, Entomology, Helminthology, Herpetology, Ichthyology, Malacology, Myrmecology, Nematology, Neuroethology, Ornithology, Paleozoology, Planktology, Primatology, Zooarchaeology, Zoosemiotics, Vector Molecular Biology, Molecular Endocrinology, Parasitology and Immunobiology, Reproductive biology, Environmental Sciences, Evolutionary biology, Fisheries and Aqua – Sciences, Forestry, Genetics, Horticultural Sciences, Human biology and Science, Pest, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Systematics and evolution, Zoogeography, Zoosemiotics, Soil Sciences, Taxonomy and Veterinary Sciences.

EASL has four main areas of interest:

  1. Entomology (systematics; morphology; biology; biotechnology; agriculture, ornamental and forest entomology; applied entomology; integrated pest management; biological control; apiculture and apidology; medical, urban and veterinary entomology; etc.)

  2. Stored product pests (biology; integrated pest management; etc.)

  3. Insect Ecology (behaviour; biodiversity; taxonomy; plant insect interaction and ecosystems; biological control; alien species; etc.)

  4. Acarology (systematics; morphology; biology; parasitology; control; etc.)

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo selection through a formal peer review process. After determining whether or not received manuscripts meet the general requirements for submission and comply with the subject scope of the Entomology and Applied Science Letters, the manuscripts are then sent to the journal's Editors for review.

The Editors consider the text's scientific merit and the relevance of its publication, and, if applicable, it will be sent for blind peer review to at least two different reviewers. Upon receipt of all requested reviews, the Associate Editors will prepare a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief to:
(a) reject the manuscript;
(b) conditionally accept the manuscript (with either minor or major revisions); or
(c) accept the manuscript. In the case of a conditional acceptance, authors will be required to return the revised manuscript with a detailed explanation of the changes that have been incorporated to address the concerns and recommendations emanating from the peer review process. The final decision on acceptance of manuscripts is made by the Editor-in-Chief.

All decisions are communicated in writing to the corresponding author(s).
